Us at Sierra Vista Winery are excited and proud to be producing our first ever estate Sauvignon Blanc. It was a long process to get to this point, but as we are now preparing our first vintage to be bottled it is proving to be worth the wait! It all started when we decided to graft a portion of our Roussanne vineyard over to Sauvignon Blanc in 2022. The grafting process we very successful with near 100% take, meaning that almost all the grafts were successful. We even saw a few clusters form that first year. In 2024 we had our first viable harvest after the grafts were two years old, and even with a small crop we were able to produce a 100% varietal Sauvignon Blanc which will be bottled this August of 2025. In doing this, we chose this vineyard location that we thought is an ideal spot for Sauvignon Blanc. It sits on a southwest facing slope, but it backs up to our forest which breaks up the afternoon sunlight, allowing for just the right amount of sunlight. So far, the wine is elegant, fresh, and has beautiful fruit characteristics. We can’t wait for everyone to try it!
